Im sure when I priced this conversion up it was heading towards Ł2k (by the time you consider the Quaife diff etc).

 

surely if you were to fit the focus rs box it would keep costs down a bit. Surely it just involves fabricating two mounts,having driveshafts made and fitting/modding gear selector off a mk5/6 escort?

i wouldnt call 2k+ reasonable,i contacted him about doin mine,wasnt easy to deal with,thats why ended up doin it myself,he wanted Ł1200 just for the shafts and 2 mounts.

 

thats what i was thinking m8,been there done it wasnt easy at the time,easier 2nd time round though,excellent conversion though,highly recommended.

Does anyone know if fiesta rs hubs are same spline as escort rs ones....

Obviosuly the gearbox end is but not sure if the hub would be the same.....

I was promised the earth by Jano on a kit for this conversion! Bloke was a complete messer!

Job isnt that hard to do if your are half decent with a spanner.

I have my mounts now done and had 20 sets cnc cut at the same time ready to be welded up. I can do ones that will drop the box about 40mm making life much easier on the linkage conversion or ones that keep the standard engine position. These will only work with a S1 suspension and mount set up tho as I have converted my car to run this.

i was quoted 250 for shafts and mounts as a diy kit but not saying this is the official figure tho as i noticed he quoted another price for same stuff of 500 but i know that was a later development of the kit.

 

i would be interested in a price on these too

TBH I have just been too busy to even look at them. I am sending some stuff over to Christian for him to finish off and try on the car. I need time to get out and buy some box section to finish a set off.

If I said Ł100 how would that sound? You will need to speak to me though as this is based on a S1 susupension setup and there are two options for the mounts depending if you want to drop the engine or not.
