Talking Car Is Ready

In 10 minutes My car is going to be ready to be started for the very first time.

1. The engine builder has done nothing but mess me around but wants it at his to be started.

2. I have access to a fuel machine and a ramp and all the tools required to start it myself.

3. I also have a friend that works in a MOT station that may be able to start it if i want to wait for a gap to come up.

My question is what would you choose. There are 3 options there and you must remember I am not the most mechanically blessed person. so if theres anything i need to do specifically then option 2 is looking unlikely.

Thanks Guys.

If you're mechanical knowledge isn't too good then you'd be better off taking it to someone who knows what they're doing mate.

But saying that if you dont try you'll never know if you can so it yourself or not

How's the engine builder messed you around mate?

well the 3 main annoyances have been,

Things not put on ready for me to just insert the engine into the car (due to a box of my bits being lost while in their possesion. Causing me a lot of pain and trouble.

Things like oil filter housing not being on causing me to lift engine back out a bit to put it on.

and the fact that they are a very awquard 15-20 miles away going accross main m 25 roundabout. And they made me tow it to them Just to tell me it was not done enough for them to keep it there (even though i explained what needed to be done on the phone) thus making me have to take a day off to tow it all the way back again.

I had a call a day before it was finished saying all was looking good and that we was under budget at that point. Ł6100 to be precise (that included cost of cams and Ł400 head gasket. They informed me that all was left to do labour wise was put the head on and put the cams in. I was absoloubtly over the moon.

Anyway get a call the next day saying i needed new followers and they also fitted the double valve springs i requested. Excellent then was told the price.

Final price Ł8553.

Ł2400 for 2 cams (which could have even been allowed for in first price), followers, valve springs, And putting a head on.

jesus that good money lol.

Well it blew the budget apart anyway.

They are my problems with them which i think are quite justified.
