Hi Martin
the system runs fully closed loop, and will not miss shift and damage the box
there is a 360 degree sensor fitted on the end of the selector barrel.
the system has its own ecu and it logs every gear change.
it is going to make my life easy on the 1/4 mile

Not 100% sure yet, it will still have to be tested in the car before it will go on sale.
If you look at the left hand side of the laptop screen you will see it reading the 360 degree potentiometer. Out of all the systems on the market this is the one that we felt safe with it being fully closed loop, the other systems that we looked at only cut for a set time and that sounded like dog ring damage.

This system will not be sold for the OS88 6sp box till we know it works 100% in my car
there is no reason why it wont work, but it still needs to be tested first.

Hi Keith,
i will follow you progress on this, as there is an option of me using this box subject to it having paddle shift, have you got an option on steering wheel shifters that your going to use ?
cheers
mark
Yes it it can have paddles or buttons.it also has a throttle blipper for clutchless down shifts.

Top bit of kit there.
Just a thought - what about the option of a feature so that it shifts up the gears once a certain engine RPM is reached (user set by some form of input device) with a momentary throttle cut of the time it takes to shift the gear? - ideal for the quater mile stuff, and no need to take hands off the steering wheel, and instant changes at the perfect engine speed.

Isn't that what traction contol is for - surely the advanced aftermarket management thesedays can handle that
It was only an idea - no need to shoot me

Hi Keith - I have been an avid fan of your motor for quite a long time now - saw it back at crail when it seemed like it was pretty new to you?
Anyway - my question is this - I have a vid clip of a black HKS skyline from quite a few years ago pulling a REALLY quick 1/4 mile. I "think" that it was quite a bit faster that even you have managed yet.
I'd be really interested to understand what was different about that car than what you have at the moment, were they on special tyres or was something else different?
Cheers and good luck with the coming season - I love your motor

Last year i was using 16" street tyres they were ok but nothing like the 15" full slicks that the pro cars run.
I have just bought a set of very light 15" wheels that are only 3.9kg each and a very light set of brakes, the weight saving on the wheels and brakes is about 50kg that should make the bugger rev lol.
I dont think its fair to compare any UK cars to cars in japan because the drag strips out there are all downhill.
