Just a thought - what about the option of a feature so that it shifts up the gears once a certain engine RPM is reached (user set by some form of input device) with a momentary throttle cut of the time it takes to shift the gear? - ideal for the quater mile stuff, and no need to take hands off the steering wheel, and instant changes at the perfect engine speed.
