Default Which turbo?

My old car is fitted with a hybrid stage 3 T3 with cut back blades and 360' bearings.

Just to point out that I am buying this car back and just want to get a few things for it that I couldn't the first time round.

Allot of people have the T34 with .63 housing. What is this turbo like in comparison to the T3 Hybrid??

Cheers

A T3 will max out at around 300-310 BHP, if you want more horsies the next step up is a T34/T35

Even the hybrid T3??

The spec of the car just now is..

hybrid stage 3 T3 with cut back blades and 360' bearings
RS500 intercooler
4x4 manifold, oil cooler and oil pump
Rebuilt gereration 2 escort cosworth block
low comp pistons
-31 actuator
Grp A head gasket
Big cone air filter
ported, matched and polished head by turbo systems
3bar map sensor
dark greens
Grp A fuel pump
Moongoose 3" exhaust (might be 3.5" cant remember)
big wing sump

It was mapped by ahmed bayjoo and it should be producing 350bhp

Not too sure about a hybrid T3 but I think a T3 will struggle to make 350 Brake, my car has Ahmed software and was mapped by MAD but I run with a hybrid T35, I think that is what you need to make anywhere from 330-350 brake, see what other members think as well, hopefully they will reply to this thread too

What sort of money are we talking for one of these.

How much would i get for the T3 hybrid if i sold it.?

I assume i will then need to go and get another chip to make it run??

Cut back blades are used where there is not a perfectly matched turbo for the job.
Has it been machined and fitted with a T34 trim wheel in a T3 compressor housing, then cut back so it sits between T3 and T34 size wise ?
If it has cut back T3 trim wheel it will not even flow as much as a std T3.
No way on earth will it flow to 350, a T34, or modded T3 as above will easily flow 350, with a .48 turbine.
A .63 turbine will be lag city, noit quite as bad with modded head depending on mods ?, but a VERY odd turbo to use with lowered CR, there is NO need to lower CR for 350bhp!!

t3 will punch a 310-320 anything above a T34 is needed, if you want it punchy use a .48 housing for 350bhp, for 370bhp a .55 and upto 400bhp. 63, if you want more you then need a T38 or GT series.
You turbo is worth £200ish, a T34 will start at £300ish and go as much as £450 dependent on housing size and condition.

Greens are on there knees at 350, so its then greys or evenbetter blacks, either 55 or 83lb.

What ever you do your car will need a new chip

A .48 will flow enough for 400 no problem, SIEMENS injectors are MARGINALLY better spray pattern than BOSCH, despite all the crap written about them being the best thing ever, you'd be hard put to tell the difference, on the road, the reason they find favour is the lack of additional seals needed like greys do.

.48 will not flow 400bhp.

simens do have a better spray patten, if i remember right 120 as opposed to 90 degree you get with blues and greys, straight fit also no extra seals, or cap modification

So engine dynos are not as accurate as you then ?
Siemens have a marginally better spray pattern, nothing massively better.
People who rave about siemens and CL, coilpack etc make me laugh, when it is a bloody expensive way of getting a ECU that is still crap like the L8, compared to a lot of aftermarket ones, the L8 doesn't even when modded do CL with EGT.
I just spent less to get CL(EGT),TC, AL, direct coilpack(no amps), triple map, fan control(X2), fan after run engine run non timer(adjustable to temp or time), tacho telltale, idle stabilisation using ignition advance, adjustable input for DIFFERENT value sensors,AFR target with OL/CL/Adaptive Loop, FULL THROTTLE gear shift, ingear adjustable boost(automatic), AIR CON control(compressor), immobiliser, than it cost for coilpack and CL on a L8.

and there was an off the shelf map for your engine for this was there

Do you actually believe the crap that comes outta your mouth sometimes

And please show me where a T34.48 has produces 400bhp?

my car is mega on the siemens injectors pulls better low down, smoother power delivery, + i got the added bonus they are totally safe and not being worked to near there limit
