Been down this road, I would stay away from the cossy stuff, there are now so many management systems to choose from go-tech, omex, to name but a few..... don't think of the cossy stuff to be a cheep solution to efi, if you want a easy solution to the EFI problem fit the efi system from a fizzy turbo and away you go,

If you want it to be mapped by a professional.. you have a the widest available choice. It can run water injection, air injectors, antilag, launch control and coil pack what more do you want it to do ?
Webber is good enough for big power Cossies, Lancia delta integrale , not to mention the Ferrari F40 why is it not suitable for a little escort ?
Just curious regarding your reasons
Cossie management is well proven and as such I fail to see why people discount it so quickly
With regards to other management systems they have their good points and bad points, as do all of them including Webber.... but take gotech for example if you want it mapped by a professional, the only people highly experienced with it is Jamsport who import it and Simon from Sitech who strangely enough does not run it on his own car.
I would simply suggest taking advice of who you wish to map your car and finding out what they are experienced with.... Im curious regarding how many people here saying its easy to map a car with a laptop have actually done it and then had the car checked by a professional, I would suggest it takes a little more knowledge and skill than being able to fiddle with settings on a laptop

i seen this post on jano's site and think it makes a perfect overhall.
...."Everyone looks to go efi as it's more reliable and can limit the occurrence of detenation.
People don't wanna go webber/cossie as it costs nearly as much as there cars worth(if you have to pay someone to fit it)
That don't want use omex, bugs bunney engine management as it devalues before it's delivered.
So..
People buy FRST management to put on there ERST because..
It does what it says on the tin
It's cheap
BUT....
Theres only 3 (i think) people in the country who can remap it and ahmed was lucky as his software was a gift from fords.
However rather than been competitive and charging forthe work involved he charges for the fact that you've put that on your car if i don't map it who is Ł500 pound thank you very much.
Ahmed now travels the country ripping people off and being thanked for the pleasure.
So what to do.
Go cossie/webber it may cost a fucking lot but think of the possibilities 2 bar of boost, air to air injectors, anti lag system (5 psi at idle mmmm).
And guess what there are loads of people who can mapp it so its a competitive market.
If you rang a big tuner they'd advise you to buy a new management system so they can skim of the top and charge you 500 large to map it, just like ahmed does. ".....

still makes no sence tho im no closer to making my minde up on what management efi cosworth after market i just want 1 that is an easy fit and simple map at 15 psi ive started a heated debate hear on witch is beta lol
Seriously though mate, I would find a tuner you like and trust and find out what he is experienced with as management is only as good as the person who maps the car imho and experience counts for a lot.
A management system can have enough features to launch the space shuttle, but unless the mapper is experienced and knows how to maximise these features they are as much use as chocolate t-pot

cossie management maybe able to do alot but doesnt it need all extra boards put in the ecu to enable this? costing big ŁŁŁŁŁ making after market management a better choice?
Why stay away from Cossie stuff... its obviously up to the job with the two fastest Escorts in the country running it with over 350bhp ?

Just read this this and would like to add that I am running Gotech Pro X and also used it on my ZVH. I used Pectel last year but swoped back to Gotech.
Regards,
Simon.
Out of curiousity Simon how do you compare the Gotech and Pectel what do you think is the advantage of each option, what does the ProX offer over the Gotech MFI and how much does it cost ?
IMO.....
The Pectel is a very high quality product but I struggled to get customer support, as the unit has to be configured by the factory and any updates have to come via email - on avarage it took them a week. Also it only has 1 or 2 General purpose outputs
The Pectel has very nice software and quite quick to map.
The Gotech is totally configurable and if you know what you are looking at then its far more flexable than the Pectel. I feel that the Gotech is more useful and usable.
The Pro x on my car controls the boost, fan, water pump(electric), water injection, closed loop. Sequential injection
The basic Gotech just controls the fan and closed loop with batch fire injection (took my old ZVH to 166.6).
