if it gives you the option try selecting "last known good configuration".

ok .. try pressing f8 when it boots.. it should give you an option of starting with last good configuration or safe mode...

always worth a try ..

if your running 4 hard drives then your running sata raid yes

if so then all the info on your pc is spread across all 4 hard drives

so basically if one fails you lose so much of your stuff is how i see it

unless you run an ide hard drve aswell for storage purposes

looks like a new hard drove and a reformat mate

ok ive done some digging around

2 hard drives are sata but not raid
2 hard drives are ide

i unplugged the two ide ones and the pc started fine

plugged one back in (the one i was hoping was still working) and agai it started fine

so it seems drive E the oldest drive in there was starting to fail and bring the whole pc down with it

does this seem feasable ? as the pc is running perfect again now lol

only prob is drive E is what i had all my porn on

i'd do this before you start unplugging/messing about with stuff too much.
definitely sounds like the clunking hard drive is on the way out!
