It's all bollocks mate. My mum's a teacher and they recycle at school, teaching the kids etc. But you know what happens to the bins ? They get sent to India and dumped. Mum did some digging and found out, as it's too expensive to recycle.

Like you most people probably wouldn't object to payiong a token recycling charge but it won't be a 'token' and they ain't doing what they're supposed to be.

Another way of shafting the general public.

can't say i'm surprised at that 80% figure... although i'm a little bemused as to why charge vat on somehting that's supposedly a green tax for the environment. (other than the obvious revenue generation!)

cheeky cunts.

you take them to the wholesaler, drop them in, then drive off. The reason you pay the fee on new lamps is so you have already paid for the deposal once they are used.

Your not supposed to put fluorscent tubes in your bin they contain mercury, your local tip will take them for free aswell.

As Steve say's, the 15p charge is for the recycling so you should be able to drop them off at any wholesaler. We supply CEF and they are ripping the piss charging customers to return the lamps as well, no-one else does. They have also been charging up to 27p and also charging it on control gear which isnt law yet.

Basically they are screwing it for as much money as they can get.

NO, NO, NO,

Think of the environmental chaos you will cause buy burning fossil fuels in your car/van going back to the wholesalers.

Bung 'em in the bin it's more enviro friendly.
