Default Defi / sec's readings...

Hi Guys - for those that have got a sec's monitor what sort of water temps are you generally seeing, and where are your alarms set?

For those with a fuel pressure gauge (well, defi, and a defi boost also), what sort of pressures are you seeing at idle, and normal driving? - What do you see when differential mode is entered (shows boost vs fuel pressure)

Cheers

I get 87°C on Pectel and same on Defi.

I haven't got the fuel pressure or boost gauges to advise on differential. But the fuel pressure should rise in line with the boost pressure from it's static 3.5 bar. So whatever boost pressure you are seeing should be added to the fuel pressure .

Ok, cheers for the info..
I'm seeing 92 or there abouts on the sec's for water.. - brand new loom if that is going to make any difference to what the ecu is seeing...
What level do the fans come on? - can't remember cry:

Mike - sounds about right - I see 3 bar at idle fuel, and have seen peak at just over 5 (i think it was) was boost was 1.2 bar.. In differential mode it generally reads 4bar..

If that temp is in traffic, then that is normal. I was quoting steady state driving .

What are you seeing from the Defi?

If you have the normal Escort fan switch, then they come in at half speed at 93° and then full speed at 99-100°C. I removed mine and replaced it with a Sierra switch, which means that there is no two stages, and it just comes on at full speed at 93°C .

83 seems really low to me though?? What temp are the standard thermostats made to open? - My bottom rad pipe doesn't generally get hot untill 91/2 degs?

I've got a turbo cooler too, so would have though it to sit slightly lower on general driving?

Edit to add - don't have a defi water temp gauge - got oil pressure/temp, boost and fuel pressure - it looks like the starship enterprise without adding more gauges into the equation

Edit to add - I'll take the car for a proper drive at the weekend, as the above is only on what i've seen on a quick trip to Bluewater (so only 15 mins or so...)

The 4x4 thermostats tend to hold the temp a little bit higher at 87°C.

So judging by what you've said about the fans, 92 is ok! - sits at fractionally under halfway on the boggo ford gauge too (although they're about as usefull asa chocolate teapot) Cheers

Oh sorry, i thought you had a defi and Sec's monitor.

anyway, when blasting, mine reads 90-92oC on road, 92-94oC on track on mt Sec's, and about the same on my capillary Racetech coolant gauge (sender has been moved around to get the most consistant temp, with out heat soak)
