hi folks my s2 has just had a new bottom end put in and was running fine on the first few start ups. over the last few weeks it has been taking longer to start each time and just coughing? when its been starting ive had to hold the revs at about 2000rpm to keep it running if i let off it dies. it also has started running on 3cylenders when cold and the afr computer is readin lean until warm.

the other week when it warmed up i took it up my street and when it dumped it didnt sound rite, i tried it again and the engine cut out now it only caughs and wont start.

ive noticed the fuel hose from filter has been crimped a bit and has a small hole in it so it is leaking. under the bonnet reaks of fuel i doctored the hole up but it still wont start.
my m8 recons its the copper washers on metering head that will need changed as they have been off and on a few times and as the hose is sqaushed a bit it will need changed

wot sort of plugs and leads you running ...?i had similar problems i had magnegor plug leads and a mechnaic friend told me to get shot of them i was abit like holy shit these are 'spoosed to be good leads any how i changed the plugs and leads and it purrs like a kitten now...

 

m8 i have magnecore leads too. think my plugs are just ford 1s.
the car ran fine before which is strange?
