Default S2 Mudflaps - Opinion please

Hi Guys/Girls

I have just bought this S2 http://bbs.rsownersclub.co.uk/showthread.php?t=140345 and am over the moon with it. I have just started the big clean and De-swirl, will post piccies as I go along.

Steve who previously owned the car for 17year had really cherished the car and the overall condition shows that.

The one question I have is that Steve had left Ford RS Mudflaps in the boot and had never fitted them. When I looked in the bag this is what I found

Now I want to put mudflaps on my S2 but is it a crime to open these bags as they are still sealed and unopended??? Sticker on the rear states June 1990.

What do you reckon, Should I open and put on car or Leave sealed and find other Ford mudflaps.
