ST Escos Brake / ABS lights up

ST Escos Brake / ABS lights up
My mates ST Escos has it's brake and abs warning light come on when he hits the brakes hard. They go out when the pedal is lifted.
The ABS doesn't to be kicking working either.....
Sensors or Pump? Thoughts anyone?
