Will it need a rebuild?
Hi all.
Ok i know it's a non ford issue, but as ive posted a request in another forum i thought id post here . As i've received good advice from this community too .I have a vw 1800cc watercooled engine that has been sat around for approximately three and half years .But i know the engine was running good as i owned the car previously before i got this engine from a mate..The guy that i received the engine hand cranked it and poured a small amount of oil in the bores to prevent oxidation on the surface(sounds strange but i'm not mechanically knowlegable on this)
What are the chance's of the engine running or is it a case for a rebuild?
Thanks Gra

I reckon you will be ok mate.
I would pour a bit of oil down the bores again and turn it over by hand a few times if all feels well you should be fine.
