Hi i've listed this post before but had no joy.

The areial on my 3 door is on the n/s rather than the o/s wing. I have been informed that there are a few cars known to have aerial on the roof. I'm keen to get to the bottom of it as i'm having the car painted soon and i'm in two minds on whether to do anything with the aerial.

My rs500 has the arial in the roof and I like the look of it

Deffo heard of some with arial on LH side and the car on ebay is mint / original with a grommet I think.

Think i've seen that 3 door on ebay (white one) the ariel is on the o/s with a grommet on the n/s.

I know its petty but when you at a show and your in a line of cars with the aerial on the o/s it starts conversations and i'd love to have a answer.

 

I had a xr4i(a436ovf) with NO aerial on either side but one infront of the sunroof in the centre, AS FITTED BY FORD IN THE FACTORY, no hole had ever been made in the rear 1/4's, this was a JERSEY POLICE CAR, don't know if that is any help!!

Its one of two things

either its originally a left hooker as they have the aerial on the other side

or its had a new shell, as these didnt have any holes at all for the aerial and some one has then drilled the hole on the wrong side by mistake

 

If its not broke dont fix it.

Thats the first i've seen thanks. Theres no history to say it was ever a left hooker. I'll have to look into it.

 

i have a saph that has a factory fitted aerial in the centre of the roof (in front of sunroof ). i think it must of depended on the stock that was available ??

 

I am pretty sure saffs were not fitted with an aerial - it was part of the rear heated screen instead, yours may have been in a poor reception area and had it retro fitted

 

My XR4i is in a new shell and has what looks like the bottom bracket for the aerial fitted on both sides but no holes drilled on the wings so, as said above, it sounds like someone drilled the wrong side
