right were finally getting broadband next week but unlike virgin this one comes thru the phone line, ive got a extension lead to take the phone line into my den for the wireless router but how do i change the phone line over to a cat 5 plug ?

any help or links of where i can get said plug or lead would be greatfuly appreciated

it will come with an adaptor/filter to fit in the phone socket, the router will either be wireless or have cat5 sockets on the back (usually both)

 

You've possibly got a cable broadband router (usually usb/ethernet connectors), in which case you'll need an ADSL router with the phone input socket.

 

You need an ADSl modem as said previously, cat5 is ethenet like what virgin media supply

 

i already have a linksys wireless router which im going to use instead of the supplied o2 one because the linksys one has a seperate wireless game adapter for my xbox

i know on the back of the linksys one there is only cat 5 ports
