82 or 88 degree thermostat for 4x4 sapphire
If it were me I would say the 88 degree one because as you know the wiring fitted by ford for the cooling fans is shite and not up to the job, when the fans keep kicking in, in traffic for example the wiring gets fucking hot and tends to melt, if the fans kick in at 82 degrees they will be on more often hence heating up that wiring
so my advice stick to 88 degree stat, also keep an eye on your temp gauge as 4x4 stats are notoriously unreliable

If that is the case you might want to consider an 82 degree stat then

Also you'll have to forgive me, its a little late and I'm a little tired
the fan switch is what kicks the fans in and not the stat

As I understand it the 82 degree was initially a special for the rs500 as the bigger intercooler partially blocked the rad and they overheated during testing on tickover. If you are going to fit one of these bigger rs500 type intercoolers sometime it would make things run cooler.
