I understand from speaking to people that Doug's (Garage19) inlets are meant to be a little better quality than the other alternatives

Col, if you got a sweedish inlet you might need a custom map due to the diference in flow rates to the cylinders...

Increasing the plenum by a few inches wont make a car laggy

It was made by Tom at AVA.

It uses a ported standard inlet with a sweedish type cover and a 70mm throttle.

my car will have by far the lowest comp of any cossie on here yet its probably one of the most responsive/least laggy.

We would not fit something to the car that gave less power.

Everything is tested on the rollers at each stage of tune and we have only seen increases.

What makes your car so responsive then mate? I understand you wont go into specifics but...?

turbo spec, headwork/cam spec etc?

I believe its alot to do with the turbo and a wee bit to do with cam timing/ign advance and a touch to do with the mapping.

Im dont claim to understand everything on how it works tho as alot if over my head.

We have spent alot of time making sure there are as little restrictions/back pressure to help flow aswell.

We have measurements of pressure in just about all areas that we can including turbo, ex manifold, exhaust downpipe etc

Over my head too mate. I always thought you needed back pressure for responsivness though.

Has your car been featured yet? I take it the spec has been kept fairly secret?

Will AVA sell the turbo and/or head on its own or do they want you to have a full build?

it was featured a good while ago but wasnt in the spec its in just now.

AVA will sell exact copies of anything off my car if people are willing to pay for it.

Some of the stuff like the air box was done kinda as a one off so wouldnt be cheap for another one.

The turbos avaiable from CR are very close to the one on my car.

Mike is the only other person with the same mods as mine.

and the remote vaccum pipe block that comes with it is ace aswell.

one of the best things about this plenums design, is that the vaccum take off point is on the side of the plenum...not the bottom like most others, so the map sensor wont end up full of oil
as the plenum usually ends up with a slight oil trace in the bottom, and normally this runs down the vaccum pipes because people dont think about it...
