Just on my way back from Billericay tonight and i get the blues behind me.... so i pull over, and get the 'you have the right to remain silent' speech...... he said that i will get an NIP (Notice of Intent to Prosecute) through the post for speeding, and he took my name and my address and my reg down, and then left!! He gave me the usual, danger and speed talk, and i gave him the 'ill lose my job if i lose my licence' talk..... Now... i thought that for excessive speed, they had to sit you in their car, and show you where they can prove the speed you were doing??

And, when he wrote my details down, they weren't on anything in particular, just his notebook......

He was on his own too.... no camera equiptment in the car either.... just spoke to my dad ( who's a traffic cop ) and he thinks that i might of got away with it... am i just wishful thinking?

Hope u get away with it maria, sounds like u have ,time will tell..I had the same thing last year was doing 100ish pulled over, copper on his own gave me the riot act and said its in the post never heard a thing...

Did you not recieve a slip? Telling you what you had done wrong? I was caught and I had to sign nemerous things, also asked me how fat I was and what I was wearing etc, and then I signed a load of other things to.

 

if anything came of it you would have a good case against it.

My dad said if youre caught doing anywhere over 85-90mph they wouldnt issue you with a ticket anyway, but he did say they MUST sit you in the car and prove the thingy machine was recording my speed and not someone elses?!

i always thought they had to be following you for a third of a mile or holding a speed gun to nick you?...also if they were following you,im 99% sure they need TWO coppers in the car,otherwise the CPS would throw the case out>?..maybe things have changed?
