Default iscv

I was going to clean my iscv today but it doesnt come off. So where is it? I un did the 2 screws and the plug but it didnt come out do i have to take the other 4 screws out and un do the whole lot? where the boost pipe goes to?

no m8 that sounds like the throttle housing m8 undo the 2 screws grip tite and wiggle or if really tite try 2 gently lever her up with a screw driver. just dont play with the adjuster inside as there locktited in position or if you do re loctite it otherwise it could come loose and drop in2 1 of the cylinders and mess up a piston or worse m8.

Ok mate so how should i clean it? i have brake cleaner and was going to soak it in that

i was told 2 use a spray carb cleaner hope that helps

I still cant get it off mate, tried again today. Tried getting a screw driver down the side but no joy, i would have thought it would have come out easier.

you could always give it a gentle tap with a rubber hammer and spray a little wd40 around it and just keep wiggling it it will come out if not brute force and ignorance but you mite damage the icsv and there not cheap m8

Ok will have another go tonight. It must be similar to the fiesta turbo one i cleaned that a few times.

I am now thinking i am attacking the wrong thing, this is it isnt it?


You undo the 2 screws indicated then take the cover off and pull it out but it wont budge i have had mole grips on it but only moves a bit.

Thats the bit mate.It takes a hell of a pulling Ive seen me using grips on mine.You just have to pull hard as hell.Its maybe never been out before.
