Has anyone replaced the alternator ??
Is it a pain, any tips for how to do it.
And how long should i give to do the job. Autoelectricans near me quoted me £300ish for exchange unit and fitted provided there are no major problem along the way (3 hrs work).
Does this sound worth while as the unit is £180, £120 for fitting, better than the hasstle myself ???

£180 for the unit is taking the piss, I pay around £45/55, exchange.
They are a royal pain to do, nothing hard just a lot of crap just to get it changed, easy diy though, just a bit long winded.
