Default Buying A New Transit - Cheapest Way Of Doing It?

My old mans buying a new Transit but were trying to find out the cheapest way of getting one - some people say import one from Europe, lease one blah blah.

He's got a P reg dropside at the mo but with the low emission zone coming in and what not it needs to be updated or converted & the longer he leaves it the harder it'll be to sell his - what do you reckon?

Cheers!

Buying mainland Europe is okay but you only get 1 years warranty that way.

And that starts from when the vehicle is sold in Europe - I've seen vans sold as new here that are already out of warranty.

And leasing will be expensive if you aren't VAT registered to recover the VAT on the rentals.

really bad exchange rate at the minute so imports not as cheap as they were. I've just ordered one from my local ford dealer and by the time i'd haggled a bit i got well over £4k off. just gutted i cant have the new 3.2 litre diesel engine in the model i want!
