Only just noticed it as I was taking the inlet manifold off is it meant to be there? Looks abit pointless shouldn't the oil feed pipe just connect the block?

Mines got one of those too - but the gauge is fitted and a temp gauge for the oil can go on too - why not make good use of it as it is virtually out of sight?
