Only just noticed it as I was taking the inlet manifold off is it meant to be there? Looks abit pointless shouldn't the oil feed pipe just connect the block?

someone has drilled and tapped the standard fitting for use with oil pressure gauge

Mines got one of those too - but the gauge is fitted and a temp gauge for the oil can go on too - why not make good use of it as it is virtually out of sight?
