Default Anyone ever repaired a heated rear windscreen?

Is it possible? Basicly the contact has come off mine and have tried soldering it back into place but no joy. Is it possible to fix and how?

Many Thanks

Mark

Yes
You can buy a kit that’s like silver tipex that you paint onto the broken gaps.

Sounds more like the terminal lug has come off his window.

I bought that silver paint from Maplins to try to patch the element I'd scratched in my tailgate and I must be doing something wrong because it doesn't work, even though I know that it should be!

Any tips on how to get a good connection where the break is?

The silver paint is good for repairing BREAKS but not sticking on contacts as it does not stick!!
If you rough the area with a scraper, then use NON flux pure silver solder it will work 100% perfect, at rejoining the connector.

"normal" solder has a flux in it, and is different to the SILVER solder they use when making the original connections, it will NOT stick, you will need at least a 40 watts iron to do it.

Depending on your excess, and the glass limit, you may find companies that can work the whole excess in and pay nothing, just have replaced as faulty.
