Audi / VW TDi top dead centre marks on crankshaft?????
Fitting the timing belt back on my 2001 1.9 TDi A4 and cant see where to line up the TDC mark on the crankshaft, the timing belt book just shows a picture of locking it in place ( obviously done before you take the original belt off !!! ) and i cant see a mark on the front of the engine to line the mark up with.
The crankshaft inner pulley ( the one that drives the timing belt ) has a mark on it and by the looks of the pic in the book this sits at about 11 o clock and not in the straight up and down 12 o clock position, is this correct ??? Cant see any other kind of mark to line this one up with so putting it at around 11 o clock seems to be a bit of a guess and not keen to do this unless i know for certain where to line this mark up to !!!!
Cheers folks.

Standing at the front of the car, look at the gearbox bellhousing from the right hand side of the engine......there is a small window cut into the top of the bellhousing and you will see the TDC mark clearly on the flywheel......line it up with the reference mark on the bellhousing...
