Mostly people panicking.

And people getting money out of stock funds, so banks etc have to sell off too. And then some other shit going on sending it down the pan.

Hold on on what you got, If you like big risks sell off some shit when it has "one" better day. Then buy again later. Shit with this is, you never know if it has one better day it will be it's way up or not, so this might bite you.

Normal people just need to hang on and sweat this one out.

Idiots that kept all their stock after april and the summer deserve what's coming, they should have made their money and reduced their amount of shares when everything was that high.

peopel think america is heading for a recision
american stocks are therefore losing vaule
peole are selling thm
this means everyone is starting to panic sell
the knock on effect is that other marckets will see a dip just for the sypmpathy
apparently the marckets were closed today in america so no one knows what's going on
and with the saudis pushing for more money and opec needing to release mroe oil things are getting costlier and costlier

the other underlying factor seems to be that the chinese don't want oil prices linked to american $ per barrel as the $ is a bit shot at the moment, but that's the other world economy

I keep hearing that it is the media that is a major driving force in confidence and is causing a lot of the problems that would be NOWHERE near as bad without their hype - is this true?

Fear of US recession which would have a knock on effect for us and the UK economy.

Then, when recession hits & everyone is all worried about themselves and their finances and focus turns to us and out ecomomy being a mess, WAR with Iran. Folks will be to busy with daily living to bother looking further afield and protesting, far fetched but its my theory

Lee has given up drinking

I was 10000% sober and don't regret a word I said....

Basically people are scared the Sub prime saga and the US recession is going to drag down the rest of the world with it.....

and so there has been a MASSIVE world wide stock sell off...

Fed finally cut rates .75% in an attempt to stimulate the economy... but I'm hearing they are maybe expecting to cut again next week!

In short... blame Team America!

You might luck out and get a UK rate cut in Feb....

and if you have a tracker mortgage you potentially might be in the money...

Maria is the expert there though

But generally on you? no effect mate... Life will go on don't worry

A .50% cut is on the cards next week - allegedly.

There hasn't been a cut like this sine 1982.

I hope I'm doing the right thing in buying up as many company shares ad I can now... if not... I'm fucked

Ain't seen anything on a .5% cut, I know they are definately going to cut the rate in the next couple of weeks, but didn't think it would be a full .5%
