This car is quite simply in my opinion THE BEST XR2 ever...
It's been built by an old friend of mine Michel from france, this is the second incarntion of the car as the first suffered a massive off whilst in a Rally.
The car has been built by Michel pretty much from scratch... The car is one of the insparations for my own car.

I have a whole file of pics of this car being built and also the legend that was his first XR2, i'll pull a few out later and post them up as well.

Right here we go... I have loads and loads of pics of both incarnations of the car/s, but i've just pulled out a few choice ones for you to dribble over...
The first 3 pics are the first time I ever saw the car, i think you'll understand why I fell in love with it...

A proper full on Rally car, no weekend warrior plastic fantastic here, if it ain't functional then quite simply it aint there...

I have stacks and stacks of different pics from various rallies that Michel took part in, but these are 3 of my faves...

Unfortunatley after pushing it a little too hard on the final rally of the season, there was a rather large come off, which resulted in one very poorley XR2

The car was beyond an economic rebuild so V2 came into being.
The Car in the very first stages of prep...

Rather than chop the decent shell, Michel got a secong rotten shell, to design and build the bodykit, and then swap it over to the decent one...

Once he was happy he began the actual build...

The last few bring you pretty much upto date...

I think you'll agree, the car is simply awsome.

The car is built to compete in a French national rally series, and as such it has to remain a Ford, a 1600 and be N/A... He has toy'd with the idea of various variants of 16v engine but due to the costs involved so far it retains the good old CVH...
Basic spec is RS1600i CVH, Fully balanced, Forged Pistons, fully worked head running a Piper 316° Cam, 41mm 'Crawl Racing' Carbs from a GSXR1100.
