I've heard that Ford do NOT do it officially. Some says the salesperson just pockets the money.

But not 100% confirmed. Need further researching before parting with your money!

When the original Focus RS was officially announced, I went to put a deposit down at my local Ford garage. This was a Ł500 non refundable deposit.

I presume it will be something along the same lines for this new car. I suggest calling Ford HQ and finding out the details as you may not be able to put a deposit down yet and it may be the garage just taking a deposit to ensure you get a car if they can allocate one.

When we went down to buy our new Focus last year, they enter all the details on the computer and then allocate you a car from there stock if available or place the order for one to be built and give you an expected arrival date.
