Definately does what it says on the tin.

 

0.63 A/R T3 housing is alot different to a 0.64 A/R T28 housing, which is what Lee has. It's all relevant to the size of turbo in any case, and contrary to alot of peoples opinions, regarding turbine housings bigger isn't always better.

Also, I would definately NOT rely on compensation maps, it's a very bad habit and only takes for your lambda sensor to have a 'moment' and you're looking at a meltdown. Remember that you now have 1.4 bar of boost somewhere in the map where it didn't have 1.4 bar before, so that part of the map may have not even been looked at.

 

C - it's a ratio, i know this, which means the physical size could be huge;y different. Is there a large physical difference between the two?

One of what turbo's? Lee's is one of many GT Series turbo's out there. There are 10's of different variations.

Those 2 turbo's are quite different IMO.

I'd expect up to 350bhp from the GT28RS and over 400bhp from the GT2540R personally. As for where is cheapest to get them, that would be importing from the US probably (if you're flukey enough to avoid customs/VAT charges), but should price be your one concern?

Is there a big physical difference? Not that is immediately obvious to the eye, but IMO, the 0.64 A/R T28 housing is roughly comparable to the 0.48 A/R T3 housing.

Well, I have far more important things to do than make pointless physical comparisons between different turbine housings, I am usually more interested in fitting them to the car and letting the dyno do the talking.

Though, I think my answer was quite informative.

There is no way that from studying the physical size, you could judge the performance. I have both a 0.64 and a 0.86 A/R T28 housing and externally you couldn't tell the difference. I know how they both perform and how the 0.63 A/R T3 housing performs by comparison.

Why questioning is this:

Both housings are ment for the same front end - ie. a turbo that can flow x amount of air. Now u say that the 63 and 64 are really different. one is 25, one is t3. as far as i can tell, this is just bolt pattern, and has little to do with intake area? a ratio of 63 to 64 makes naff all difference if both housings have similar physical dimesnions. you say they are diff - i want to know why

 

Compensation map seems to be eeerrrrrrmmm fookin spot on.

brand new from atp turbo.
straight bolt on job.
