Default Ford mondeo Query

My dAd has just given his car into a local garge to fix his handbrake, and they fitted a offside rear brake caliper, rear discs and pads and 2 new front pads, the travel on the hand brake handle is now better but there is hardly any braking there at all at the mo,the technician said that this is normal and will work fine after 90miles or so,does anyone know if this will be the case?

Just to add it is on a 02 plate and he said that will just need bedding in,I know brakes need bedding in,but i didnt think that would effect the sharpness of the handbrake itself???

ford did a recall on the handbrake on 02 mondeo's

they reroute the cable as it sticks sometimes and there is a change of the adjustment system as some have self adjusting and some don't

call ford and see if it was recalled or not

The new brakes will take a while to bed in which is probably what the mechanic meant. Can't see why that wouldn't also be the case for the Handbrake.
