first update and it a fairley big one, ive had the day off work today so got stuck in with a mate, ive stripped all the interior, removed a wheels to get it all polished up to see how it comes up, then started on the body work, attacking with a angle grinder to remove any sight of rust, of which on the surface it doesnt seem to have much untill you hit it with a hammer and half the van comes apart which i dont think is suppose to happen, it seems to have had i diet of silicone and filler and anything else that can fill holes up!
so ive grinded it all away back to bare metal ready for new panels to be fitted, anyway ill let the pics do the talking! hope you enjoy!

wide ka i must admit i only hate them as every one ive ever worked on his the same filler/rust issues yours has
if your doing it properly then fair play to you mate and i hope you make a great job of it as its something i wish we had done when working on them but non of the customers really wanted to pay proper repair work so they got the filler treatment
I didnt work for a vw matey or anything but the place i was at done plenty of work for a vw guy that had shit loads of them ect which he would send up to us for alsorts of body work, some big job and some just small repairs ect.
we did do a LHD van one once with big wheels and a tuned motor (cant remember what) in black that was actually quite cool and we did one once for an oldish couple that called there motor clive
they used to come in all the fucking time to see how things was going ect........

updated today for you, been working my way around the van starting at the back, sorted the two holes that we had found, welded plate in and filled over the top, also filled anyother small dents and dings etc.... then found some paint and just sprayed it on to show up any other issues so its cherry red and indigo blue, from the 106 rallyes lol, also desided to fill the seams in to make it look abit more smooth when all done, coming along nicley!

whats that meant to mean, i like hitting rust with a hammer till its non existant again lol.
did you undercoat the angle grinded brown bits with something that prevents rust before you fillered over, if you didnt itll come back to haunt you!

hi guys/girl, been ages since i last touched the camper, manily due to still messing with the ka, anyways got a fair bit done yesterday, reoved all sound deading from the inside and preped most of it ready for paint, and painted abit to see how it looked, then turned my attention to the front end, removed the dash, to find a little more rust the decided the screen needs to come out which ive never done before but it came out quite easy anyway thank god, front is not too good, so its going to be a whole new panel on the front end, and thats about it for now i think, and i took a picture of the knob of death!
