Im about to replace the clutch in the missus FRST, however the gearstick is like very slack and finding a gear sometime is like a lucky dip. I have been told there is a bush that is worn on the top of the box. Could any one shed any light on this for me, ie location, easy of fit, ford part number, etc

Not sure about the bush, but a Quickshifter changed the sloppy feel of mine instantly, with the added bonus of a shorter throw

 

very good the B+ M SHIFTERS, good firm solid feel...

long gone are the porridge in a bowl like feel

If your after a new bush i think your going to have fit a good second hand one i believe all Mk3 Fiesta use the same linkage.

 

Again I can't rate B&M highly enough. One of the best bits added to my S2 and I want another for my Fiesta now.

 

as said above....it will be the shifter....the bush people are telling you about is in that...and shagged....b&m all the way....did read a post on here saying there not made any more though...

 

you can buy parts from fords to rebuild the gear selector, but check the linkage at the end of the changer bar are not fucked and worn out other wise its a waste of time
