A local lad "apparently" has a T5 on his 1900 cvh? Anyone ever heard of one?

Yes, Garrett built a T5. Huge great thing, size of a planet and doesn't even start to spin until something like 4500rpm. Strictly for racing cars, although Power Engineering put one on a Greek guy's road car years back. I went in it when it only running about 380bhp and it shit the life out of me (2.4 block, Grp A head etc etc). Was running well over 500 brake when it was done.

 

Best of my knowlege Garrett NEVER made a turbo called T5, ever.

T4 series goes way beyond the specs that people who claim to have "T5s" have, just bullshit and/or people making up new names for their turbos.

And Volvo T5s got ownt to do with it ginge, you belive a small engined volvo with just over 200bhp has got a huge turbo on?

I wouldn't bet my house on it but I'm absolutely sure they did.............

 

Oh, Volvo T5s used Mitsubishi TD05s which are smaller than T3s...

Find me some info (ie from Garett not some bollocks someones spouting) on a T5 turbo then and il shut up...

Look anywhere with big lists of Garrett compressor maps, 100s of turbos? Any T5s? NO.

They dont exist apart from in the minds of bullshitters and people who have belived em.

Yup, totaly Mitzis turbo numbers, and any other make of turbo numbers, have no relevance to Garretts numbers.

Even if there was a turbo called a T5 in the 60s, itd make even a RS500 T4 look like a modern design, and thats a load of shit today...
