Hi Dave, that doens look like an escort one to me, they look more like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IDLE-SPEED-CON...QQcmdZViewItem

they are situated on the rear of the inlet manifold, quite easy to get to so IMO i would remove it and have a look before parting with any cash

i have an escort one at home somewhere, if i can find it ill get some pics of it for you

As Dan said, its not too bad.

I would recommend taking yours off, cleaning it with carb cleaner, and then working the valve/spring loose and see if this cures if. if it does you can be sure a new ISCV will fix it.

Beware as most of the ones off eBay don't work

Check the breather pipes before buying a new iscv unit as a split breather pipe WILL give same effect.

Dont forget the pipe underneath towards the back on the escort (The one you cant see normally)

Thanks alot guys
How did you get to the valve, did you use a jack?
I have done an ECU reset which seems to helped a little bit, Ill check for airleads as suggested and if nothing has change ill try taking the valve off and try to clean it
