Lol, bet hes on a good wage packet though!
I wouldnt be worried on how the tree looks or whatever (even though its part of the job), its the money thats grabbing my attention.

One of my good mates is a top notch tree surgeon. He did it a few years ago but then joined my'firm'. He is giving it up now & going back to the trees!
He reckons he can make enough in the summer six months to see him through the next six. He no longer needs to work shifts and is his own boss.
I think I may join him, and trust me £500 a week should read £500 a day!

being a tree surgeon is very hit and miss tbh i'm one and have a shed load of certificaes if i aint qulified to do it then its somet paper work like and if i can't do it then it aint doable i work my arse off but
if u work for someone else u get paid fook all unless u can get on as head of a tree department or similar BUT if u work for your self and have the motivation etc etc etc at my last job me and one other lad turned over £180,000 worth of work in a year don't have a clue wot percentage of that is str8 profit as i just take my wage and go home on a friday as i don't want the hassle of paper work but saying that i have just gone up by £3 an hour and am running the tree team for a local landscaping company and running 15 men at the moment
and i don't earn the £500 a week as said above BUT i live in huddersfield up north near leeds and not london as i have heard some very good stuff from round that way but don't like the idea of living there but abroad does sound good and u can pull in the eqvilant of a grand a week so may move there in the not so far of future

my mate at college is/was a tree surgeon. top class one aswell, got all the paperwork.
packed it in to coem study for aerospace engineering (at 30!). much more money
his mate was the one who egged him on to do it, and hes on £82k basic a year tax free (works in belgium so doesnt pay tax?!). two lads just started for him, 22 year old frwsh out of uni doing avionics with all the licences (which ill be getting) and theyre on £40 an hour, starting wage. again tax free.
fuck trees, get into planes people.

i bet you wont earn £500 quid a week, my mates a tree surgeon and he was told he would earn so and so amount but they say you can earn 500 quid a week etc only if you work every fuking hour of the day, he goes to work at 6 and returns about 7 in the evening now thats a hard days graft climbing up trees with fuking heavy chainsaws etc
another thing to remember is you wont be young and agile forever, what about when your 45 and cant afford to retire and have terrible back etc just aint a longterm career imo
its a bit like labouring on a building site you can earn 500 quid a week cash if you can supply a few blokes all day with bricks cement etc but the fact is its bloody hard work and you wont be able to do it forever
