Default my FRST i need some help please!!!!

I have just converted my XR2i into a fiesta turbo running a T3 and i have rebuilt the engine putting new gaskets on the head ect ect
i have got it started and running fine then suddenly after about 20 seconds it made a loud whistling noise which slowly got louder coming from the head which sounds like a air leak,
i had a listen and i couldnt locat were it was coming from, i then started to check every thing was attached e,g the brake pipe, idle valve pipe, inlet pipes, boost hoses ect ect thinking not much of it once it was warm i tryed to give it a rev,
it wouldnt rev properly and when i put my foot down it just trys to cut out
and wont properly rev or come on boost and when it dose rev
(which is done by very slowly putting your foot down) it gets to about 4500 and stops and starts to cut out, it also wont idle properly

i have changed the wiring it need e,g has frst map sensor and ECU
any ideas would be much appreciated and could help greatly

are you running a D/V? if you are not, make sure the little pipe where the D/V would connect to on the inlet is blocked off - i had this problem when i took my D/V off.

Check the gasket you used on the inlet mate

I changed some gaskets a while back. I just rushed through it and could hear a massive air leak, turned out to be the wrong gasket in the kit!!

Went back to BMS to get a single one, gave them all the info etc and they still came back with the wrong gasket!

Good news! I'd be wary just throwing ECU's on personally

what management?

Chip?

Injectors?

i have just tryed a OFAC ecu and it is running better! but still like a bag of shit and been taking it out for a drive and it only takes bout quatar throtle and then starts jumping and dying, it is also still using too much fuel! iam going to change the throttle position sensor tommorow but it worked fine before i changed the engine so i dont think its that, but its somthing to tick off the list

1) EFI

2)no chip

3) Standard injectors (blue)

mate seriously, you need to get the car on a rolling road and set up correctly, remember if you dont know what your doing leave it alone, at the end of the day you dont want your engine blowing up if its too lean/rich.

i had the jumping and dying problems on my old red fiesta rs turbo as it was over fuelling massivly and once set up it was running great.

the nearest rolling road i believe is torque of the devil in uxbridge around the m25. if the car is not set up properly the engine will eventually fail

yeah the main problem was from cold, you revved the car and it would die, then wouldnt start and smelt badly of petrol. take the spark plug out and tell me what colout it is - black = running rich, white= running lean. should be a chocolate brown colour.

yeah i see you live in biggin hill, i have worked in biggin hill for 4 years

dont suppose you have a spare cvh sump do you?
