don`t women suck! RANT TIME
i haven`t posted on here for a while as i have just split from my partner.
here`s a few basic`s
we bought the house together (joint names on deeds) yet i have always paid the mortgage and bills, (still do).
she didn`t work while were together.
been and seen a solicitor and they say i have to keep paying the mortgage even though i ain`t living there
she gets half of the house (profit wise),i am gutted about that but the real sticking point is i have to sell the 2 bmw`s and rs200 kit and give her half.it came out of my account but that don`t matter
she is even intilted to half my pension.
the really annoying thing is were went even married.
be warned guys

really feel for u ......but whats stopping u selling the cars to a mate ,,,i meen a really really good mate or brother for buttons ,get the docs changed ,get a receipt and come to a arrangment that when the split is over buy them back and a wee bit extra for his troubles ,i know a boy that done this but he didnt need the money to buy her out it was just to stop her getting half ,,,,as she was making him sell the 2 cars he had ,dunno if u can do this but thought i would say anyway .......good luck what ever happens

i left because i was playing away,was with her 10 years so in the eyes of the law we were married without the paperwork.luckily we never had any children (i have 1 with someone else and that has put me off having anymore)

and, if she's living in the house she shoudl be paying half the mortgage
did you get a written agreement that she would get out what she put in and you would get out what you put in as a % of the house when it comes to selling it? without this you're fucked with both names on the deeds
althoughy ou culd honestly claim that she put you up to it and falsified her version of things to make it look like you could aford the mortgage with both your earnings etc, but bin your brief once you've found a decent one, this ones already spending his cut of your house

i've recently done the same thing i.e. fucked off with someone else after 10 years but luckily my (ex)missus is being cool about it so far.
i didnt know there was potential for her to be entitled to stuff though!
and the sad thing is i got booted by my bit on the side within a week of telling the original missus

Mate if you werent married then she dont get half. If you've no kids then you see a solicitor and sit down and prove via your bank statements what you contribute towards the household and she has to do the smae, then it's split in that manner. So you might be better off than you think.

It can get quite complicated and depends on the cirumstances under which the house was owned but there's something called beneficial interest which allows the division of the property to be unequal. You may be able to claim a larger benefical interest in the property if you are unmarried and have been the sole person paying the mortgage for 10 years. But if you hold the property as joint owners then she may well be entitled to half. However, she may also be able to claim a benefical interest even if she is not offically an owner of the property.

Surely you can "sell" all your assets to your parents for very little, change docs over etc, then temporarliy(sp) move in with them, give your missus half of the little you got for the assets then buy your stuff back from your parents and start over?

u need a good lawyer you are not being advised correctly,
I have lived with 2 previous people before my current wife as as i paid almost all the bills they got basically fuck all--
She will be intitled to half the house profit though as thats in joint names..
You also wanna terll your lawyer that u are unable to pay the full morgage yourself ...
Otherwise as it stands with her atm she could stay there forever for free if you continue paying

Get some proper legal advice mate - otherwise you'll get royally fucked by her for years to come. If you can prove you've been paying for everything then I can't see how she's entitled to half of everyhing. The house yes. but fuck all else. She's technically a lodger. My mate does this and makes his bird sign a rent book each week. Whether he's shagging it or not, she gets fuck all if they split as he had the house before they met.

As already said if you can prove that your were paying all the bills and the mortgage on your own (should not be too hard) then you might have some way around it, but having both names on the deeds will be a problem..

i went through a divorce last year and the "SHE gets everything"rule as changed. like said get a good solicitor who specialises in matrimonial, sepereation matters, not just the ordinary run of the mill solicitor.from what you say she aint contributed jack shit towards the house so thats exactly what she will get. and trust me if she wants to stay in the house then its up to her to buy your share of the positive equity of the house.

thats what she'll argue as for selling the cars selling/giving them to a mate will work get them signed over then there not yours to sell make sure the locked away for a while

i dont see how she is entitled to half of anything other than the house if theres no kids involved.or why you should be paying the full mortgage whilst she stays there unless it could be said that she had given up her career to be a full time housewife.
in cases like this id expect the house to be sold with any profit being split equally before you both gone your seperate ways

My fella moved in with me and we split everything 50/50 & we have seperate savings accounts

sorry but as much as i hate to admit it she has a case 
if you live in civil partnership (boyfriend/girlfriend) for 4 years or more, then the other party is entitled to half your worldy goods
its a pisser, which is why i dump them after 3years and 364 days

*It may have changed*, but you may find that BECAUSE you paid all the mortgage and bills in the past, that's why you have to continue to do so now. If it were the other way around, then in theory she would have to continue to pay it all herself.
