xenons are single filament (effectively) for cars with seperate main beam bulbs

bi-xenons, either have 2 bulbs, or are motorised, and are suitbale for cars which use the same bulb for both dipped and main beams (RST's cossies etc)

hope this helps

yup...most kits are motorised so they create the correct dipped pattern, then move a shield to create the main beam pattern

in most cheap HID kits. the bi-xenon is acheived by a solenoid pulling the bulb backwards (the shiled stays in the same place) to put the bright bit in the same place as it would be with a dual filament bulb so that the reflector works in the same way
