Tyres sizes on 17" alloys

Hi Guys,

I've got some 17" alloys for my Mondeo mark2. What size tyres should I be using 215 40 17 or 215 45 17? I bought them off of a guy and he was running them on his ST24 with 215 45 17's

215 45 17's are the norm as they are standard on the ST200.

Thats what I thought, but some sites are saying the st200 has 215 40 17's.. I wouldn't know as I've not got one

Just don't want my speedo to read out

All of the 200's I have seen or owned (four now) have all had 215 45 17 as standard.
