i need to make an engine mount for my car

something like this

bolt sticking out either end with some HARD rubber in the middle

where can i get one or two made????




or OE is on left, one i want is on right

Large bit of Nylon with a hole drilled through and a bolt , job done !

use some threaded bar and spot weld to the large washer/plates either end.once you have drilled the nylon

Just find one that already exists and is close enough to what you want, you can always pack either side with washers a bit anyway.

You can NOT put one bolt through the middle or the nylon wont be a mount anymore the bolt will do that job and you will get massive vibration.

you can get them made up i think. Try google for it. A lot of people make up custom sizes/rubber hardness.

type in "bobbins" or "cotton reel mounts" in google and see what comes up.

there ya go

i was looking for some for AGES to mount my exhaust onto my mk1 escort, so had a search about. They SHOULD be able to make you some engine mount sized ones, with some really hard rubber.

i bought something like these for my nova



so there are people about who sell what your looking for!!
just checked the place i got mine and they only do stuff for vauxhalls, evo and scoobys.

but im sure you'll find what u need pretty soon

ive used a mk2 escort engine mount bush in mine, looks exactley like what you want, i got it from burton power only a few quid!

the diameter of the rubber and the thickness?

just looked it 50mm , ideal for me as it's a touch thiner than i want so i can pack it out, just hope it's a m10 bolt?

hope it does if you want a stiffer one im sure old land rovers use the same kind out mount but alot stronger due to more engine weight

ok cheers dude,

i should be ok

if you look at the pic below, it rest's on this mount, and there are two other small mounts which keep it in place

so it can't move anywhere, but having a solid (welded) mount made a massive difference in vibration through the car( bad)
