Default MK5 XR3i 130/105ps....how to tell the difference????

Got a 3i for the missus but im unsure as to which model it is. Its been played around with so im unsure if some of the tell tale give aways were there from factory or if some one has fitted them up ie air filter housing gone in place of induction kit, rear disc conversion and its had lockwood dials reading 150mph fitted (doesnt mean its not 130mph underneith i suppose). So how else can I check, throttle housing size etc??

Cheers,
Stu

Only way I can remember of telling the difference was that the 105ps had rear brake drums.... so if it's had a rear disc conversion, I'd say it was a 105ps one.

correct, there is a sticker on the inlet pipe that says either 105ps or 130ps - but that is quite easy to change

should have a 52mm TB, unlike the std 48mm one, bigger MAF sensor, rear discs unless it has ABS then it could well have had drums as std

quite hard to tell apart really

did you hpi it? that should tell you what model it is

Nah didnt hpi...i'll go measure the throttle housing in mo. Its been made up into a cossie rep so with things like the rear beam I dont know if they've been changed in keeping with the rep theam as best possible or that it came with that beam when new.

130 bhp's have the same size front discs as an RS2000, 105's have smaller ones!
