When i took on the job at the company i work for the boss (my boss from a previous company) gave me a 10% shareholding in the company. This was 5 years ago.

Over the last 5 years we have worked hard and made a profit every year

However what should be a 10% payout each year never comes through as the full amount! Always being told we need to reinvest in stock, vehicles, computers etc etc, it usually ends up about half!! eg:8k turns into 4k!! This i can appreciate as we need to keep getting bigger in order to progress.

However im being kept in the dark constantly with anything i ask about the financial side of things, always fobbed off! This years payout should have been in March, I recieved about a quarter of what i was due and told the same amount would follow soon, its November tomorrow and i still havnt seen any more so last thing at work today i ask when we may be getting another payout.

My answer - 'Why do you keep asking for money, is it because you want it and are then going to leave??!!

What is all that about!! In my eyes im only asking for whats due to me!!

Does my head well and truely in!!

 

If you are a shareholder, then ask to see a copy of the accounts. That will tell you all you need to know.

 

sounds like they have spent your share and are to scared to tell ya

 

As well as accounts there should also be minutes of every meeting of the directors which you have access to as a shareholder. If they refuse to show you the accounts and/or minutes; or do not adheed to the company policy as written as it applies to dividend payments, then they are in breach of the companies act.
