Default 4x4 MT 75 Viscous coupling

I have just bought an uprated gearbox, and had the whole unit reconditioned. I didn't upgrade the centre VC at the time, but I have decided to now, before I fit the box to my car, so as yet it has not been used since overhaul.

I have for sale a freshly checked and tested MT75 standard center VC, which is set to 25Nm (std setting). perfect for if your 4x4 cos is loosing drive to the front wheels, on our last RR day 3 cars had this fault and the owners were unaware .

I am after £110 your old unit as an exchange item

Yes you can, but will it be overhauled and checked by a specialist and working 100% perfectly?

I am very very interested in this Will, i think you see my post on this in the Escort Cossie section.

How long would you allow to return the existing part in my box, or would you need my one before hand?

hi lads

see you guys with the 4wd's most of them now are all fooked , i mean that seriously

put your cars on the rolling road and you will see how good your center VC's are

they only came with 25Nm when the cars were brand new and by now most will have lost their viscosity and they will be mainly rwd only sending abit of torque to the front wheels

i was at the last rolling road and there was atleast 3 saffs with fooked center VC's these dont last forever they need resetting some point

we do them from 50Nm to 180Nm you dont need anymore than 60Nm on a road or track car

cheers marco

Right, don't think that the owner of the grass is going to be very happy with this and neither is my carbon front spoiler.

lift the car on a 2 post ramp, and turn the rear wheels, if the fronts don't turn then it stands a chance of being fubar

That is easy as the car is on axle stands at the moment.
Will check shortly but it will probably be fubar knowing my luck.

Tested it this weekend and fronts move if you turn the back wheels.
Not going to replace this as of now then.

As said mate, it's not a definative test, only way to tell is to stick it on the rollers, the fronts will turn even if there is a few Nm of preload left, but hopefully yours will be OK

Still for sale, open to offers as it seems a shame to give back a perfect working VC as an exchange item

Oh, and the fact that the 4wheel spin succeeded is also something to not worry about the VC.

Sorry to post hijack
How does the centre VC work and how do you load it to adjust the torque split ?
