Default RST S1 vs S2 ECU compatibility?

I've got an unused Turbosystems chipped S1 ECU, just wondering if it could be used in an S2?

I know the ECU has no S2 knock sensing function, but would it work just the same apart from this?

You can actually use a S2 ecu in a S1 aswell, but due to the fact the S1 doesn't have a knock sensor the ignition will run retarded, but its very easy to wire one in

What you're doing is absolutely fine though, just make sure you have the car set up so theres no chance of detonation!

Cool, thats good to know.

Change of plans for my MK3 so was going to just sell it as I doubt I'll ever buy an S1 in the future, but much more chance of buying an S2 so could be worth having.....
