im trying to get the rear drums off a 106.

i have removed the big nut in the centre of the drum and it wont come off. then u loosened the bleed nipple and handbrake to get the shoes away from the drum and nothing helped. i have hit it with a hammer and still nothing.

Yeh i would of said that there will b a big lip on the inside of the brake drum. If i was you i would buy some new brake shoes and stick 2 big screw drivers behind the drums and try and force the drum over the shoes. The backing plate should be ok if you bend it when removing the drums just bend them back when you get them off.

Yeh it will b ok to bend it back into shape. If all the springs fall out it might b a good idea to buy a haynes manual.
