Default rs turbo gearbox advice

hi guys, bit of help needed.

basically, rst lump going in my ka, want a s2 box for the LSD, want a S1 box as its got the mount on the front so would save having to make up another mount.

have found a nice S1 gearbox case for sale so was planning on buying that, then also buying a S2 LSD box and putting all the bits from the s2 box in the s1 case, will all this fit alright? is it just a straight swap?

thanks,

ben.

Hi ben

Couldn't you get a S1 box already built up.. remove the existing LSD from it and then replace it with the improved LSD fitted to the Series 2 box?

Nick.. oh and ill bring you that battery round tomorrow all charged up

but if i buy a s1 box already built i'd only strip it and probly end up having the case powdercoated anyway so would be easier to buy this one already done.

s1's didnt have LSD's anyway did they? only s2?

hi, its quite staight forward to swap the casing, but you will need a puller for 5th gear. some experience with this box would be usefull though.

Where do you base this? Common information is that the S2 had the downgraded LSD.
