Default what does this mean? numbers found scratched inside head

i was changing the valve stem oil seals on my 4x4 cossie head yesterday when i noticed some1 has scratched some marks inside, they were on the exhaust side where the rocker cover goes.

now i guess this means the size of the combustion chambers but what does it work out the comp ratio to be if i have std comp pistons?

and what does cmes mean?

Can't help with the technical aspects, but on mine the guy in the engineering shop told me that my markings (sorry, can't recall what they said) showed previous skimming work had been done, so that someone working on them in future would know what had already been done.

at a guess i would say that was the total cc for each cylinder at TDC

on my 2.01 zetec turbo with a 7.8:1CR its 65cc per cylinder

EDIT: actually it could well be the head, my pistons sit approx 1.5mm below the deck face of the block thinking about it

It's an Excel spreadsheet used to calculate compression ratios.

You fill in the bore, stroke, block and head ccs, etc and it does the maths for you.

Here's a screenshot, but you need Microsoft Excel to make it work.
