spongy brake pedal

if i hit the pedal hard brakes lock on.

but a slow press some times the pedal just slowly sinks down. and i lose the bite unless i hit the pedal again.

the cars has goodridge stainless braided brake hoses 6 piece kit

Front brakes:
AP Racing 4-Pot Calipers with 330mm grooved AP discs

Rear brakes:
305mm vented disk conversion

Ferrodo Ds2500 pads all round

no apparent loss of brake fluid anywhere

When did you change the fluid last?? has this been a gradual thing or did it just start to feel like this recently?

sozz for late reply.its been a gradual thing since the hoses where fitted and i asked the garage to fully flush the system with 4dot fluid

i hope they did,the BILL was large enough < real tears

 

They didn't bleed the brakes right then m8,take it back.

 

Still air in the system then Steve...

i was going to change the pads last sunday.then remembered had no copper grease for back of the pads.and all the motor factors where shut by 3pm

as the front calipers have two bleed nipples on each pair. is there a preferance which one inside or out to bleed first

 

I usually do the outer first and then the inner.....

I never use copper grease on the back of the pads, or the sepertately supplied anti rattle shims, I have yet to have any noise at all from them either.
It does sound like air in there still, I never bother on any car with order as I personally have never found it made any difference at all.
