the car bottomed out and then the rear went light as the suspension came out of compression.
I'm sure that part of the track is called compression for that exact reason..
he's lucky boy

Teach him to drive so fucking slow
I can't honestly see what happened there to cause that
It realy looks as if he was cruising through there, I'm not sure how hard some others take that part of the circuit but after my instruction round there I'm not on the brakes till after the left hander at the top of the hill.
Normally you drop into that going hard and it pulls you over to the armco on the right, quite frightening but it sets you up nicely for the next corner
Was VERY close though, nearly got himself a bill

If you drive steadily and with respect you will love it. If you drive like this pair then you will fall off the track.
Was he even going that fast though ? didn't sound like the engine was even working !
Once he had lost it though it looked as if he had a bit of a move on
Totally agree though with respecting the ring, not one to just fly round straight away.
My advice is, get some tuition if you can ! They will teach you how to drive it fast, but safely, plus they will scare you with so many stories of deaths in certain places from crap driving that you won't take risks.

i take it there is people there that will go out with you in your own car or take you out and give you some tuition?and how much does it usually cost.?think when i get my finger out and go id want to do that if i can
JonnyBravo - im not confident enough to go through the full compression flat - get thrown out to the right armco ... still flat (if I understand u correctly) take the left curb FLAT (so were about 150-160 probably at a guess lol) and then be faced with a 10m braking zone and a right hander that u can take at 80 (at a guess)
That chap probably shouldnt have been on the ring - tho he did well to keep the car parallel all that time lol
I lift and dab the brakes just before the compression as on road tyres the speed just feels too great for the grip (plus the potential risk!)
Cheers

Steven - Your clearly driving a much quicker car than I drove round there
But yes in something powerful you would know to break a little for the compression area as you can carry far too much speed in there if your not careful.
I must be around 120 ish iirc at the top of the hill, could of been quicker in the Astra but I wasn't really looking at the speedo, we were on 888's in that though.

cant see the vid but tbh, i went in my escort estate a few weeks ago and even in the wet, in a SHIT handling car i only had one or two fairly minor tank slappers/squirms on. in a decent handling car you know well you will be fine aslong as you dont try and go round like youre trying to break any records. i didnt think there were many tricky corners tbh, appart from the left hander at the top of a hill thats very tight, then into a right hander, very easy to go to quick into it and potentially end up in the gravel, although the only damage you risk there is to you pride i recon.
just recognise the fact youre not an experienced race car driver and drive accordingly, and you will love it!
ffs go steady in the wet

too much weight/ too many people in the car and prob got std worn suspension
the car seems to be bobbing around the track even on the fairly flat parts, with very little control
they were very lucky imo

Why is the guy a "knob"?
Lucky sure, but what did he do that makes him a "knob"?
3 up on bouncy hydromatic suspension or whatever it is, and it's no wonder he lost all grip at the back like that. Could have been a very serious accident, as it could easily have dug in.....
As if driving the Ring fast and having an accident means you have no talent? I know some seriously experienced Ring goers who've had accidents there......

Obviously didn't give the Nordschleife the respect it deserves.
Pure knob.

No, that's not what I said RichardPON.
Knowing the course and knowing your car's limits is a fundemental for track driving. He was pushing too hard on a very dodgy bit of the circuit and not concentrating chatting to people in the car. That's what caused the accident, as causes most accidents.

The guy probably didn't have any knowledge of the car's limits either, but he sure found them pretty quick!
So after all that, you're telling me that anyone who's overstepped their car's limits on track is a knob? He didn't crash, he didn't hurt anyone else, and he got lucky. How does that make him a knob?
And as for preaching the fundamentals of track driving to me.......

The whole point of going on a track is to learn the limits, where the fuck else are you going to learn? Tescos car park?
p.s
If my insurance company are reading this, then obviously I mean a toll road as the ring isnt a track, it says so on my claim form
Thats one lucky fucker !!!!
Always looks slow when filming from inside the car so was probably going a lot faster that it looks !! The armco seems to be flying past him at quite a speed when he is staring it in the face going sideways !!!!
Did i read somewhere it costs you a small fortune if you hit the barriers there ???

That is a classic video, without doubt one of the best things I've seen on youtube
What makes it good is the person driving, commentry, etc. "jesus wept".. LMAO, classic Dad not swearing in front of his 'little girl'
I don't think the passengers really realised how nasty it nearly was, they seemed quite amused.
Did I hear the girl say, "grandmas gonna kill us" ?? If so, even funnier if it was Grandmas car, shame she wasn't in there too.. "well held son"
