Default fao stu (msd)

im going to be changing my grey injectors to either siemens,or rc not sure if i need to go as large as 1000cc but my greys are getting maxed now

also im getting a 4x4 head ive got ported and polished, thinking of going 27 on inlet and 25 on exhaust, and a 4x4 plenum matched to it(poss an ava sweedish type inlet made up)

is it safe to assume il need to send my chip back to be re written mate?

ive only bought the one thats in it now euan

the other 1 came in the boxes with the car, sold that 1

i might still go for a mappable managment euan, still waiting to see how neil gets on with the collins 1,cause im defo no spending £3000 on one of the others +the money ive saved in fuel on long runs with the closed loop should pay for sending chip back.....

That really has to be the most stupid coment on the thread. Certainly not worth the risk imo.

According to Stus thread there is no set AFR that det occurs and it could be different for each engine if i read that correctly.

Few of these for me for being a thick cunt and not even thinking of ignition timing either, so sorry Euan for the above comment.

Right im off to go and learn on how to prevent det

I was thinking similar as at least you will get ONE proper answer that is correct rather than lots of guessers.

However the answer is yes. Changing your spec so dramatically, injectors, head etc will require a totally fresh chip.

Col atleast Stu now does off the shelf or self fit chips for bigger spec cars , when i decided to go for the Collins ecu you had to take anything with greys or above down for a week for a live map realy.
